This dish gets its impressive taste from jaggery and coconuts cooked together and stuffed into rice coating, steamed to perfection. A dear-to-heart recipe to all who have tried it.

    How to make Kozhukattai at home

    Step 1

    In a pan add 1 tbsp ghee, add 2 cups grated coconut, and add 1 cup jaggery. Roast until the mixture gets ready, add cardamom powder. Switch off the flame and mix.

    Step 2

    Boil a cup of water and add to the rice flour. Add 1 tbsp ghee and pinch of salt. Mix well and knead it into a dough.

    Step 3

    Take a small portion of the dough, spread it in your hands, and add a spoonful of stuffing. Pinch the edges and close the dough in the shape of modak. Steam for 10 minutes and serve.
