An age-old favorite dessert of the country, but astonishingly enough, it has its roots from the middle east in many records. Nonetheless, we have always loved it with open arms, its crunchiness, its twisted shape, and its perfect sweetness have had an everlasting craving space in our palate.
Monsoon or winter evenings, hot jalebis from the live counters at the local sweet shop along with some hot milk and gossip sessions are always on top of our to-do list.

How to make Jalebi at home
Method of making syrup :- In a deep bottomed Tawa or kadhai, add 2 cups of water
Add sugar 1 cup followed by crushed cardamom and Saffron
Boil this for 15 min and bring it to 1 string consistency
Let it cool and keep aside
Method of making Jalebi :- In a bowl, add all-purpose flour, urad dal paste, ghee, baking soda, and saffron water. Make it into a smooth batter and keep it for fermenting.
Add this batter into a jalebi-making cloth or a squeeze.
Pour out the batter in jalebi shapes in ghee or oil and fry them until it turns golden in color in a jalebi Tawa or Mahi tawa.
Remove from oil and dip the jalebis inside the prepared sugar syrup for 2 to 5 min and Serve hot.
