Ingredients of Homemade Parippu Payasam

1. Cherupayar Parippu (Moong Dal)1=200g

2. Thick Coconut Milk1 1/2 cups

3. Jaggery400g

4. Medium Thick Coconut Milk4 Cups

5. Light Coconut Milk4 Cups

6. Ghee3 tbsp

7. Chopped Cashew Nuts50g

8. Coconut Pieces50g

How to Make Homemade Parippu Payasam

1. Fry cherupayar parippu for about 5 to 6 minutes without using water and then cook it with boiled water.

2. Melt the jaggery and then add it to the parippu. Stir the mixture and then add two tablespoons of ghee into it. Now, mix the ingredients.

3. Take the light coconut milk and add it to the mixture. Make sure to add the medium-thick coconut milk once it has started boiling. Wait for the mix to get evaporated and reduce to half. Now, you must add thick coconut milk into the mixture.

4. Continue to stir it for at least five minutes. Fry the coconut pieces and cashew nuts with the ghee and add it to the mixture.
