Ingredients of Homemade Jeera Rice

1. Basmati Rice1 cup

2. Jeera seeds/Cumin seeds2 tsp

3. Cloves2

4. Cinnamon1/8 tsp

5. Cardamom pods2

6. White pepper powder 1/2tsp

7. Ghee2tbsp

8. Salt to taste

9. Coriander leaves for garnishing

How to Make Homemade Jeera Rice

1. Take the basmati rice and wash & soak it in water for about 10 minutes. Now, slowly drain the water from the basmati rice and keep it aside for later use. Add 2 tsp ghee into a pan and heat it.

2. Add cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves into the pan along with the rice. Saute the mixture and ensure that the rice has been coated with the ghee. Now, add salt and 1 ½ cups of water into the pan and then mix the ingredients really well. Cover the pan and cook the mixture until the water has been evaporated entirely & the basmati rice is properly cooked.

3. Add cumin seeds and the remaining ghee into a kadai and heat it. Add the cooked basmati rice into the kadai along with the white pepper powder.

4. You must thoroughly mix the ingredients and then cook it again for a couple of minutes or more. Make sure to add the coriander leaves into it and then serve it with a curry or dal.
