Onion rings were invented in Texas, in the early 1920s, and since then, it has been so loved by all that the world adopted it with their own takes and improvisation to it. It’s an excellent pocket-friendly and clever snack for cocktail parties and high teas. In this recipe, we have introduced a “chatpata” version to the same old onion rings.  Do try out and enjoy yourself with your loved ones.

    How to make Crispy onion rings at home

    Step 1

    Slice the onions slightly thick and separate the rings. In a small bowl take maida, cornflour, black pepper, turmeric powder, chili powder, and salt. Prepare a smooth lump-free batter adding more water if required.

    Step 2

    Now dip an onion ring into maida paste and coat well.

    Step 3

    Slowly drop the coated onion ring into bread crumbs/ corn flakes crumb and coat well. Now for double coating, drop the onion ring again to maida batter and wet completely. Further, roll in corn flakes crumbs and coat well.

    Step 4

    Fry until the onion rings turn golden brown and crisp.

    Step 5

    Enjoy onion rings with sauce and tea as an evening snack.
