Amritsari Chicken Masala Recipe:: Amritsari Chicken Masala Recipe is a mouthwatering North Indian chicken Recipe that is found on most restaurant menus. In this gravy first, the chicken is marinated with curd, spices, onions ginger, and garlic and then cooked. The deep red color of the Amritsari Chicken comes from the addition of cooked tomatoes. Amritsari Chicken Masala is simple to make and can be served with any bread or rice of your choice for lunch or dinner.

1. Chicken, with bones500 grams
2. Ginger garlic paste1 tsp
3. Chilli Powder1 tsp
4. Coriander powder1 tsp
5. Turmeric powder1/2 tsp
6. Salt to taste
7. Black pepper powder1 Tsp
8. Juice of one lemon
9. Onion, chopped2
10. Ginger, chopped2 Tsbp
11. Curd1 bowl
12. Oil2 Tbsp
13. Jeera1 tsp
14. Tomatoes, finely chopped2
15. Red Chili Powder1 tsp
16. Turmeric Powder1/2 tsp

1. First marinate the chicken with ginger-garlic paste, chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt, black pepper, lemon juice, chopped onions, chopped ginger, curd, and mix well. Keep it refrigerated for at least one hour.
2. Next into a pan, add oil. Once the oil is hot add the cumin seeds and allow them to crackle. Once done add the chopped tomatoes, and sauté for 3-4 mins.
3. After 3-4 mins add red chili powder, turmeric, salt, and cook well. Once the tomatoes are cooked remove them into a bowl and keep them aside.
4. Into the same pan, add the marinated chicken. Saute for a minute and cover the pan. Reduce heat to medium and cover and cook till chicken is cooked and the oil separates on top.
5. Now add the already cooked tomatoes masala to the Amritsari Chicken Masala and the required water to adjust the consistency of the chicken gravy.
6. Simmer and cook for 5 mins and turn off the heat.
7. Garnish Amritsari Chicken Masala Recipe with Chopped coriander leaves and serve with roti or nan or jeera rice.
